Began with a discussion of music books! Learned about The Fiddler's Fakebook, which has many tunes in our Red Book, but plenty of different arrangements. The book is really big though and has some weird page turns.
Went over C and D major 2 octave scales, followed by a pretty good playthrough of Sleeping Soond. I'm getting the hang of this song, and now that I know the notes, I should start to have more fun with it. It's a song with some great strokes (the doublestops on A and E) that really calls for some fun.
Ragtime Annie I had more problems with. I couldn't get the first part right until the end of the lesson! But it's coming together and I just need more practice.
At the end of the lesson Ajineen played through the Ragtime Annie from the Fake Book, and it's quite different! I like the Red book still and I think as hard as it already is, the Fake book version sounds even harder.
